Viticoltore Ettore Galasso
Abruzzo, Italy
The Galasso family moved to Abruzzo from Northern Italy in the 17th Century, dedicating themselves to the cultivation of fruit, including grapes for wine and olives for oil.
During the 1960’s, Ettore Galasso took over most of the family land – 350 hectares, stretching from the Apennines to the Adriatic sea – and started bottling his own wine. He then established his cellar in Loreto Aprutino where most of his properties were located. Today, Ettore Galasso is still fully committed to the winery with the help of his two daughters and 60 staff.
Founded in 2014, Villa Vestea was born from the enthusiasm of his daughter Stefania Galasso, building on her passion for wine, passed down through generations. Alongside certified organic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that the area is justly famed for, the winery also cultivates other varieties through sustainable agriculture, such as Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Cerasuolo, across vineyards with varied soil profiles.

Valle Giardino Pecorino
A very sound example of this mineral and herbal citrus-based grape variety that is growing in popularity. The Pecorino heartland of Abruzzo produces delicious zesty whites that make them extremely adaptable with food or simply as a lightly fruited aperitif.
Fonte Grande Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva
100% Montepulciano which, as expected, has a deep ruby colour and robust tannins; this example has a splendid violet nose with red plum on the palate deftly polished with the cedar character imparted by twelve months in large oak botti. Further ageing in bottle gives roundness; dry, but full of autumnal fruit on the finish.
