The Fattoria di Piazzano comprises a small group of buildings on top of a hill surrounded by sixty acres of vineyards and olive groves. A beautiful location, that Otello Bettarini, a manufacturer from Prato, with a great interest in astronomy, fell in love with back in 1948. The third generation of the Bettarini family continues to manage the vineyards in a sustainable way.

Piazzano’s traditionally made, 100% Sangiovese undergoes alcoholic fermentation with pump-overs to assist extraction, and ageing in cement tanks to give the wine supple and velvety red stone fruit, spice and balsamic character that finishes dry and long.

Softly pressed into cement tanks, this simple, vibrant red wine has the purity of youthful and vigorous sour-cherry fragranced fruit, interlaced with peppery spice that is typical of Sangiovese grown on low-yielding, gently undulating hills marked by extensive olive groves.
