The Bucovaz family hail from Slovenia, but today’s home is the far north east corner of Italy, an area famed for excellent grape growing. Much-travelled Simone fronts the team, having learned his winemaking craft on other continents before coming back to put his experience into practice. With the help of their parents, Simone and his sister Serena are proud that a new generation can build on past success and take this winery – and these wines – to new levels. The results are outstanding.

Bucovaz Friulano
Arguably a lead wine in the compact Bucovaz portfolio, this is a vibrantly fresh orange-citrus and herbal aromatic wine which delivers a lush fullness on the palate. It’s full of energy, brisk and vivacious, with a streak of minerality adding interest to the broad texture and a creaminess that enhances the long, dry finish.
Bucovaz Ribolla Gialla
A variety associated with the Fruili area for over three centuries, Ribolla Gialla is now becoming quite trendy as an alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or serious Pinot Grigio. The attraction for many is the racy acidity, the pronounced saline character and the pure, clean zesty fruit freshness of lemon, lime and orange which features in an aromatic compote, yet the wine is light on the palate.
